BECOME DENTIST USA LLC ("BDUSA," "we," "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you provide to us. This Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, whom we share it with, and what rights you have.

2. Data we collect

2.1. Data you provide to us

• Full name and short name / preferred greeting
• Email address
• Password (stored as a hash, never in plain text)
• Gender (optional, for language personalization)
• Time zone
• Study-plan information (goals, exam date, available days)

2.2. Usage data

• Progress on questions, clinical cases, and exams
• Performance statistics by subject
• Completed tasks, study streak, days ahead/behind
• Conversations with Coach Dr. V (AI assistant)
• Participation in trivia and duels
• Badges and achievements earned

2.3. Technical data

• Unique device identifier (a local UUID generated by the app)
• Operating system and version (iOS / Android / Web)
• Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
• IP address at the time of access (security logs only)
• App version
• Anonymous error logs

2.4. Payment data

• On iOS, subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple (App Store / In-App Purchase). Apple processes the payment; we only receive from Apple the subscription status (active/expired) and its renewal date. We do not receive or store your card details.
• On the web (and other cases), payments are processed through Stripe Inc.
• We never store credit-card information.
• We retain: the payment provider's internal identifier (Stripe customer_id/subscription_id or Apple's transaction identifier), the payment amount and date, subscription status, and billing history.

2.5. Legal acceptance

• Version of the Terms and Privacy Policy accepted, date and time, and IP at the moment of acceptance.

3. How we use your data

4. Artificial intelligence — Coach Dr. V

4.1. So that Coach Dr. V can respond with context, your messages, your current study plan, and a summary of your progress are sent to the AI model providers:

• Anthropic (Claude model) — language processing
• OpenAI — embedding generation for semantic search

4.2. These providers have no-retention policies for API use. They do not use your data to train models.

4.3. We do not send directly identifiable information (your name is replaced with an internal identifier where feasible).

5. Who we share your data with

We share only what is necessary, with the following third parties:

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.

We may disclose your data if a competent authority requires it through a binding court order.

6. Data retention

You may request early deletion of your data by writing to becomedentistusa@gmail.com (see section 8).

7. Security

7.1. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

• Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+)
• Encryption at rest in the database
• Passwords stored with a hash (bcrypt via Supabase Auth)
• Role-based access control (Supabase RLS)
• Unique per-device session tokens (single-session enforcement)
• Periodic review of administrative access

7.2. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. In the event of a material incident affecting your data, we commit to notifying you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

8. Your rights

In accordance with applicable law you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data
• Rectification — correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a structured format
• Objection — object to certain processing
• Restriction — request restriction of processing
• Withdrawal of consent — for processing based on it

To exercise any of these rights, write to becomedentistusa@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy request." We will respond within 30 days.

If you reside in California (CCPA), the European Union (GDPR), or another jurisdiction with specific regulations, the applicable rights are those provided by your local law.

9. Minors

BDUSA is intended for dental professionals over 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we detect a minor's account, we will close it.

10. International transfers

Your data may be transferred to the United States and to other countries where our providers operate (section 5). We use providers with standard contractual clauses or equivalent certifications to ensure an adequate level of protection.

11. Push notifications

If you authorize push notifications, we will use them to:

• Remind you of your daily study tasks
• Notify you when your plan is about to expire (5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 day before)
• Notify you of trivia duels, results, and Coach Dr. V messages

You can disable notifications from your operating system settings or from the app profile.

12. Cookies

The mobile app does not use cookies. The web version may use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising-tracking cookies.

13. Changes to this Policy

If we materially change this Policy, we will notify you in the app at least 15 days in advance and request your renewed acceptance where applicable. Previous versions are archived and available upon request.
